Custom Doors for Openings the Big-Box Store Never Heard Of
Odd sizes, special orders, and statement entries measured precisely and installed to fit, inside and out.
Every house in the Valley has at least one opening that refuses a standard door. The 1962 ranch with the 78-inch jamb. The remodel where the arch is an inch out of square and always has been. The owner who wants a barn door, a pocket door, an eight-foot pivot entry, something the aisle at the home center simply does not stock. This is where door work stops being a commodity and starts being a trade.
Custom door work lives and dies on measurement. Openings are measured in multiple places because old houses settle and new houses were framed on a Friday. Square and plumb are verified, not assumed. Order a special door off one optimistic tape-measure reading and you own an expensive mistake with a long lead time. We measure like the door is non-returnable, because it usually is.
Bleuwave Handyman installs the full range: solid-core interior doors, French and pocket doors, barn doors on properly anchored rails, oversized and undersized slabs, and statement entry doors in wood, fiberglass, and steel. We prep the frame, fit the slab, mortise and set the hardware, and run the seals and trim so the finished opening looks like the house was built around it.
We handle repair on the custom side too. A hand-built door that sticks or sags deserves better than a belt sander and a prayer. We adjust, re-hang, and refit so the door you paid real money for works like it should. In this climate, where sun and heat move wood year after year, that tune-up is what protects the investment.

Questions, answered straight
My doorway is not a standard size. What are my options?
Three, usually: order a custom-sized door, trim and refit a near-size slab, or reframe the opening to a standard dimension. Each has a different cost and timeline. We measure first, then lay out all three with numbers so you can pick the one that makes sense.
Can you install a door I bought or had made elsewhere?
Yes. Bring us the door and we will handle the frame prep, fitting, hardware, and sealing. If you have not ordered yet, let us measure the opening first. It is the cheapest insurance available on a non-returnable door.
Do barn doors work in Arizona homes?
They work well, provided the rail is lagged into blocking or studs rather than drywall, and the door has enough wall to park against. We check both before recommending one. A barn door on drywall anchors is a countdown, not an installation.
How long does a custom door project take?
Installation itself usually takes a day or less. The lead time on a special-order door is the variable, often a few weeks depending on the maker. We measure and lock the specs early so the waiting is the only slow part.
Will a custom wood door warp in the Phoenix sun?
Unprotected, on a west-facing exposure, it can. Species choice, finish, and overhang shade all matter. We will tell you honestly whether your entry can carry a wood door or whether fiberglass with a wood-grain finish will keep its shape longer for less upkeep.
